The Work of Joshua Hoffine
The Work of Joshua Hoffine
Joshua Hoffine is a horror gore photographer. No! He is THE horror and gore photographer. His photo shoots themselves model elaborate film sets, with costumes, props, fog machines, and special effects makeup. Every part of the scene is acted out live in front of the camera and the reactions, for the most part, are genuine.
Hoffine is of course a fan of all monsters and slashers movies. His work at times is gut wrenching and hard to look at, but it is always exquisitely executed. His work displays what people don’t want to see, their own demise.

“The life of a scarecrow changes when he decides to become friends with the birds”
This short film has been internationally acclaimed and received numerous awards since its premiere (including a pre selection to the Oscars)
This is not the final cut that was released, voices and music are not the final versions.
I was in charge of the creation and design of the characters and backgrounds, the storyboarding, the animation directing and the editing.
It was made mixing 2D backgrounds with 3D modeling into a false 3D environment in After Effects.
